Album cover tiger will not go for a song
INDIE band Belle and Sebastian are auctioning the cuddly tiger from the cover of their debut album – for at least £14,000.
Stuffed toy Tigger appeared to be suckling on a young woman’s breast on the sleeve of Tigermilk.
The 1996 album has chalked up six-figure sales for the Glasgow group.
Despite visible stuffing, more than 70 people have bid on the tiger – pushing the price up to £14,100.
It is being sold for a charity chosen by the cover model’s son, Arch, who donated the toy.
Belle and Sebastian said: “We’re auctioning off this magic little piece of B&S history to raise money for Arch’s chosen charity Hearing Dogs.”
