Hurt seal freed from net horror
A YOUNG seal rests after being freed from plastic rope biting into its neck for five months.
The animal, known as Lucky Star, had evaded help by rescuers who feared it might choke.
But the British Divers Marine Life Rescue were able to pin it down in north-west Cornwall.
Dan Jarvis, of the team, said: “Lucky Star was at the bottom of a cliff. He got spooked so it was a sprint to the water’s edge.
“The wound was quite deep but not badly infected. Hopefully we’ll see him again one day.”
Pups, who learn through play, can mistake nets as toys.
