Spurs fear Jan injury

SPURS are braced for being without Jan Vertonghen for more than two months.

It was thought the hamstring injury the Belgium midfielder picked up against Huddersfield would keep him out for as little as four weeks.

But it now appears the setback is worse than first thought, and Spurs fear he could miss the rest of the Champions League group stages.

Vertonghen – due to have another scan this week – has already been left out of Belgium’s squad for their upcoming games against Switzerland and the Netherlands.
