So I’m delighted this weekend the entire nation gets a chance to vote on the most pressing issue of our times: Is it OK to snog someone who’s not your wife/husband/boyfriend/ girlfriend in the street?

And not just because of his late night tongue tango with professional dancer Katya Jones. No, more because if his girlfriend Rebecca Humphries’ statement is to be believed, he really is the lowest of lowdown scumbags. A man who’d score perfect 10 for his moral limbo dancing.
There has to be a special place in hell reserved for men TONGUE TANGO Seann & Katya who, not content with cheating on their partner, make them question their own sanity by insisting they’re imagining the whole thing.
As Rebecca said in a fantastic Twitter post: “He aggressively and repeatedly called me a psycho/ nuts/mental. As he had done countless times throughout our relationship when I’ve questioned his inappropriate/hurtful behaviour.” Well there’s certainly nothing original nor funny in Seann’s routine.
It’s the oldest “defence” in the book for wayward men: “You’re being hysterical... You’re mad…You down...”
And, of course, for someone who senses their partner is up to something, who feels the earth moving beneath her feet but can’t actually prove anything, there is a very real sense she might be going mad.
I know one woman whose husband stood and watched as she rang round therapists to help her deal with her “irrational jealousy”.
Sure enough, a couple of months later it transpired she wasn’t cracking up... but her husband was shacking up with a woman 20 years his junior.
I’m not so naïve as to imagine a world where every errant partner rushes home to admit their indiscretions to their patiently waiting partner. But Seann’s behaviour reveals a man not weak and witless, but controlling and cruel.
The only good to come from this mess are the inspirational words from Seann’s ex Rebecca to other women being belittled by their men. For, as she says: “In these situations, those who hold power over you are insecure and fragile, and the need for control comes from a place of vulnerability.” Which I think might be a prettier way of saying he’s
