Army rap for ‘extremists’

-

AN Army chief says it will not tolerate extremism after pictures emerged of soldiers posing with activist Tommy Robinson.

The former leader of the English Defence League, 35, also posted video of troops cheering him.

Maj Gen Rupert Jones, next head of the Standing Joint Force, said the Army was “absolutely clear we do not tolerate extremist views and behaviour”.

He said his position was “a widely held view” across the Army, and insisted it “encourages diversity”.
