Fracking judge to face probe
A JUDGE who jailed three fracking protesters is to be investigated after the Daily Mirror unearthed his family links to the oil and gas industry.
Judge Robert Altham caged Simon Blevins, 26, Richard Roberts, 36, and Richard Loizou, 31, over their peaceful protest. But the Altham family business, run by the judge’s parents, counts fracking investor Centrica amongst its clients.
The Judicial Conduct Investigations Office is now looking into the complaint.
Another judge could then review his conduct. Dismissal or disciplinary action would be taken if Judge Altham is found to have breached the code of conduct.
