Tory to Scot: Speak slowly

OUT­RAGE Alex Pater­son A SCOT­TISH coun­cil­lor ac­cused a Tory of xeno­pho­bia af­ter be­ing asked to talk slowly in a meet­ing so he could “un­der­stand” him.

Alex Pater­son, 41, was in­ter­rupted by Barry Kemp at Med­way Coun­cil, Kent.

Mr Pater­son, orig­i­nally of Glas­gow and Labour’s man for Rochester West, said: “I told him he was ig­no­rant.”

Cllr Kemp de­nied xeno­pho­bia, adding: “I’m halfS­cot­tish. I un­der­stand my un­cle Jimmy in Glas­gow with a pipe in his mouth.”
