Has Beeb got less news for you at 10pm?
BBC bosses want news at 10pm cut by 10 minutes to keep younger viewers.
From March the national news may be five minutes shorter, regional bulletins by four and the weather by a minute.
Ex BBC newsreader Peter Sissons attacked the move saying: “I don’t see the logic in the decision.
“They are in the business of public service, not competing for ratings.”
Beeb chiefs hope a 10.35pm finish will make it easier to retain viewers for the next programme.
Sissons, 76, said the BBC being “obsessed with young people” showed a misunderstanding of what is going on culturally.
A BBC source said of the plan: “It is sensible to explore all options.”
