Grandad bid to bring boy home to UK

DETERMINED Ian Simpson THE grandad of a British boy whose father was murdered by his Chinese wife is fundraisin­g to bring the lad back to the UK.

Jack, eight, and his sister Alice were taken to live with WeiWei Fu’s family in China after she killed Michael Simpson in 2017.

Fu was jailed, and a Chinese court granted custody of Alice, six, to grandad Ian Simpson after he paid Fu’s parents £9,200.

But he and wife Linda, both 69, claim Fu’s family are holding out for more cash before releasing Jack.

Ian, from Hartest, Suffolk, has spent £100,000 on trips to China with lawyers. His pals have set up a JustGiving page.

Ian said: “The support I have received from people has been amazing. It’s been phenomenal­ly emotional.”
