£70m man Mickelson on the Case

-

PHIL MICKELSON held off Paul Casey to win the 44th PGA title of his career at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

The US left-hander won the event for the fifth time with a closing 65 to triumph by three shots.

His $1.4million (£1.089m) first prize saw him join Tiger Woods in surpassing $90m (£70m) in earnings.

“It’s been a very special week,” said Mickelson. “This is a special place for me.”

Casey finished with a 71 to finish second – and win the pro-am with Don Colleran.
