ANGEL’S REVENGE MISSION

- BY DAVID McDONNELL

PLENTY of Manchester United fans wrote off Angel Di Maria as a misfit – but he’s ready to make them eat their words tonight.

That’s the view of Paris SaintGermain team-mate Julian Draxler, who says the Argentinian will be fired up to hit top form.

Di Maria (above) joined United from Real Madrid for a then British record fee of £59.7million in 2015. But he lasted just one season at Old Trafford before joining PSG for £44.3m.

Draxler (below) revealed Di Maria had spoken to him about the difficulties he endured at United.

The German winger said: “I was asking him some questions about Manchester United. I won’t tell you what he said, but he will be ready. “He’s a big player. He has a lot of respect for United, there was nothing terrible in what he said, but it stays between me and him.

“Angel’s in good form and we’ll need him, especially without Edinson Cavani and Neymar.

“Hopefully he’ll have a great performance in Manchester.”

PSG coach Thomas Tuchel is wary of Paul Pogba and said: “He’s a key player, absolutely and he’s now becoming a leader, who loves playing for this club. An incredible player with wonderful qualities.”
