Lorna stands against hate
FORMER Kirk Moderator Lorna Hood gets the OBE for her life’s work for the Church of Scotland – and her stand against genocide.
Lorna, from Paisley, founded the Scottish Arm of the Remembering Srebrenica charity, who work to tackle hatred and intolerance in memory of the 8000 men and boys murdered by Serb forces in the Bosnian “safe haven” in 1985.
She said she was “gobsmacked” and dedicated the award to the Mothers of Srebrenica group. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: “Lorna is an inspiration.”
