TORY SPEAKS OUT
THE Tory MP who gave the SNP’s Angus Robertson the red card has his eye on becoming the referee of the House of Commons.
Douglas Ross, the new MP for Moray, has made a pitch for Speaker John Bercow’s job after just one week in parliament Former MSP Ross, who is a UEFA referee, famously got into trouble for missing a Holyrood vote to referee a Champions’ League match.
He said: “I might make an early pitch for his [Bercow’s] job if he’s thinking about standing down in the near future.”
