BILL Cosby’s retrial on sex assault charges will take place in April, a judge said yesterday.

The 80-year-old actor’s first trial ended in a mistrial in June after a jury were unable to reach a unanimous verdict after deliberating for more than 50 hours.

Cosby is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand, a former basketball team administrator, in 2004. His family-friendly reputation, stemming from his role in the 80s television comedy The Cosby Show, has been shattered by dozens of sex allegations dating back decades.

Andrea’s accusations are the only ones recent enough to sustain criminal charges.

Cosby denies the claims and says any encounters with his accusers were consensual.
