KATE Winslet has blasted Weinstein for his treatment of women – before taking to the red carpet to promote a Woody Allen film. She said Weinstein’s behaviour was “without question disgraceful and
appalling and very, very wrong”, adding: “I had hoped that these kind of stories were just made up rumours, maybe we have all been naive.
“And it makes me so angry. There must be no tolerance of this degrading, vile treatment of women in any workplace anywhere in the world.”
Winslet is co-starring with Justin Timberlake in Allen’s 1950s drama Wonder Wheel, set in New York’s Coney Island amusement park.
In 2014, Allen was forced to repeat his denial that he molested his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow in 1992 when she was seven.
Winslet won a best actress Oscar in 2008 for her role in The Reader, released by the Weinstein Company.
