Sci-fi classic returns for 40th anniversary
THE Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is making a radio comeback with the original cast to mark the 40th anniversary of the cult classic’s first pilot show.
The sixth instalment of Douglas Adams’ sci-fi story, called The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy: Hexagonal Phase, will feature in a six-episode series on Radio 4.
Simon Jones, who plays dressing gown-clad time traveller Arthur Dent says it promises to be the “most epic adventure yet”.
He added: “It seems extraordinary that it’s been 40 years since the first pilot episode for BBC radio.
“I never expected to still be searching for some kind of answer to life, the universe and everything almost a lifetime later.”
The series will include unpublished material from Adams, who died in 2001.
