‘I quit’ PM will return to Lebanon
LEBANON’S prime minister Saad Hariri – who announced he was quitting on visit to Saudi Arabia – has said he will return to his country “within days”.
He said he would return to seek a settlement with his coalition partners, the militant group Hezbollah.
And withdrawing his resignation would be conditional on the Iranianbacked Hezbollah staying neutral on regional conflicts.
They have sent thousands of fighters to Syria to support President Bashar Assad.
Hariri held back tears during a TV interview and rejected reports that he was being held against his will by Saudi Arabia, Iran’s bitter rivals.
