Stay at Hampden but only if it gets revamp
FORMER Scotland No.1 Rab Douglas insists the national team must stay at Hampden – but only if the SFA redevelop the ground.
The Celtic old boy, 45, made his return to the National Stadium on Saturday as he helped Arbroath beat Queen’s Park 2-0 on his debut.
Hampden chiefs are set to discuss its future next month, with the SFA’s lease expiring in 2020.
But Douglas, who earned 19 caps, said: “You want to play at the National Stadium. I’ve been privileged to play there with Celtic, Scotland, Arbroath and Forfar.
“It’s needing redeveloped again or they need to purpose build. This is the home of football and I have a lot of special memories.”
