I’M NOT SET TO ED AWAY

- SCOTT McDERMOTT sport@dailyrecord.co.uk

EDUARDO HERRERA last night insisted he will not follow Mexican pal Carlos Pena out the Ibrox exit.

The striker has failed to impress since signing from Mexican side Pumas last June, ending up the Premiership’s most used sub this season.

But the 29-year-old is adamant he’s with Rangers for the long haul – despite Pena being reunited with ex-boss Pedro Caixinha at Cruz Azul this month.

Herrera said: “One of my dreams was to play in Europe and I’m living it at Rangers now. For now I’m not thinking about a return to Mexico like Carlos. I signed for three years with Rangers and still have two-and-a-half left. It was nice to have someone like Carlos to lean on here.

“But that’s football – you have a good relationship with someone, they move on, others arrive.

“It has been a big change for me here. The city, the weather, the style of football, I’ve had to adapt. “But in the second half of the season I want more minutes – that’s my goal.

“I’m grateful to the Rangers fans who have supported me and I want to respond. They’re impressive – the

best I’ve seen.”
