Shake-up sparks STV jobs fears
STV staff fear programmes and jobs could be axed as a result of a business review by their new boss.
Rob Woodward has been replaced as chief executive of the broadcaster by Simon Pitts, who is carrying out an assessment of the company.
Rumours have been circulating that this could involve axing STV2 – the digital channel launched last year – and that job cuts could also be on the horizon.
A source said: “The rumour is that STV2 could be for the axe, and that jobs could go across the business.
“Viewing figures for STV2 have been low since it was launched and the new boss may be looking to focus on the main channel and STV’s online media.
STV said: “There are no announcements regarding changes to our business.”
