Cops ‘still hope to find’ Liam
DETECTIVES searching for a Scot who went missing in Germany yesterday said they “still hope to find him alive”.
Liam Colgan travelled to Hamburg with 18 friends for his brother’s stag party when he became separated from the group on a night out.
The 29-year-old from Inverness, due to be best man at his brother’s wedding in three weeks’ time, was last seen at about 1.30am on Saturday as he left a bar.
Hamburg Police spokesman Ulf Wundrack said: “We still hope to find him alive. None of (our) efforts has been successful so far.”
Officers have used sniffer dogs, spoken to witnesses and put photos in newspapers, TV and online in a bid to track Liam down.
Police Scotland have said they will help with inquiries if needed.
On Tuesday, Dundee United captain Willo Flood posted an appeal on the club’s Twitter feed asking fans to assist with the search.
He said: “Liam’s family have asked everyone to share this to raise awareness and bring him home safe and sound. Liam – if you see this, get in touch, buddy.”
