Kendrick to perform at summer fest
HIP-HOP star Kendrick Lamar has been confirmed as the first headliner of this year’s Glasgow Summer Sessions.
Organisers of the outdoor music festival described the date as “one of the biggest announcements” in their five-year history.
The Californian artist, who has collaborated with Rihanna, Drake, The Weeknd and Snoop Dogg, is the first addition to this year’s bill.
His appearance follows a show at The SSE Hydro and five Grammy Award wins.
Lamar’s August 29 set at Bellahouston Park will see him follow in the footsteps of Eminem, Biffy Clyro, and Calvin Harris.
DF Concerts’ boss Geoff Ellis said: “Kendrick is at the top of his game and we can’t wait to welcome him back to the city in August.”
