It’s all Greek to Joey

IN THIS latest bonkers idea for a reality show, a luxury Greek hotel has been taken over by new management – namely five celebrities who seem to have wandered in from other daft reality shows.
We are introduced to them as “Chelsea posho” Spencer Matthews, “Essex girl next door” Lydia Bright, “Geordie booze hound” Holly Hagan, “ex pro-footballer turned pro-ladies man” Ashley Cain and, most amusingly, “bewildered man child” Joey Essex.
The narration is the funniest part about this show, courtesy of comedian Russell Kane, who adds some much-needed sarcasm and innuendo.
Hotelier Mario Armani oversees the chaos as the five attempt to win good star ratings from the guests and ultimately become Employee of the Season.
The guests, by the way, all look like Love Island contestants – clearly only beautiful bronzed bodies in aviator sunglasses have been allowed to check in.
Joey is delighted. He says: “I wanted a job where I could be in the sun, meet fit birds and just chill out really.” He’s taken aback that he’s expected to work.
Lydia, meanwhile, announces she is wearing her “sensible shoes” for work – gold high heels.
On day one, Spencer is put in charge, while Joey is given the job of bellboy and Lydia is forced to cover the breakfast shift alone when Ashley fails to get up.
“They think they are coming here for a holiday,” laughs Mario – although we all know they are actually there to entertain us.
And they might just succeed.
