Trump’s u-turn on move to raise legal gun-buying age
DONALD Trump has performed a U-turn on raising the minimum age for gun purchases after pressure from gun groups.
He had suggested raising the legal age to buy a firearm from 18 to 21 after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Florida last month.
But the proposal was not part of a modest set of school safety plans announced by the White House on Sunday which were closely aligned with the National Rifle Association.
The president, who championed gun rights duringhis 2016 campaign, vowed to take action after a gunman killed 17 students and teachers at the high school in Parkland, Florida, on February 14.
Meanwhile, porn star Stormy Daniels, who said she had sex with Trump, has offered to return the £93,500 she was paid for agreeing not to discuss their alleged affair.
