‘Boxer Love left us with next to nothing’

A ROGUE landlord who threw a family’s property out in the street is facing legal action.

David Love evicted mumof-nine Donna Newby and her children and dumped their treasured possessions.

The devastated family have spent the last few days sifting through their trashed belongings, looking for anything that could be saved.

They say TVs, laptops and electronic toys are among the items broken beyond repair.

Now they plan to sue amateur boxer and property tycoon Love after being left with “almost nothing”.

Last night, Love said: “My position is that the stuff was worthless junk.”

But Donna’s daughter Shannon Head, 19, said: “We’d been in that flat nine years.

“That was nine years of our lives, nine years of birthday and Christmas presents. Now we’re back to square one.

“We’re contacting lawyers to take legal action. We don’t want Love to get away with it in case he does the same to someone else.”

No one was in when Love, 37, and three heavies turned up at the flat in Edinburgh’s Drylaw on Friday.

They piled the family’s possessions up outside before Donna, 41, arrived home to find her belongings heaped together like trash.

She had fallen behind on her rent in May after missing a JobCentre appointment and losing her housing benefit.

Boxing club boss Love said he owns a “seven-figure” property portfolio.

Previously, he told the Record he had been “cleaning up” the property and had been threatened with a knife during the eviction.
