Say­ing no to hols rip-offs

MORE than three-quar­ters of fam­i­lies are tak­ing steps to avoid hol­i­day “rip-offs” af­ter 72 per cent got caught out on their last trip abroad, a survey has found.

On av­er­age, they over­spent by £177. And some 77 per cent are plan­ning to take cost-cut­ting steps, ac­cord­ing to the Post Of­fice Travel Money poll.

Buy­ing water in bulk, drink­ing local beers and sight­see­ing on foot are among the most com­mon ways peo­ple plan to cut back next time.
