Appeal launched to aid tot in 3rd cancer battle

- BY ARTHUR VUNDLA

THE MUM of a six-year-old girl battling cancer for the third time has launched an appeal to get her daughter vital treatment abroad.

The parents of Rosie Veronica Mitchell set up an appeal to raise money for their daughter to take her overseas for cancer treatment.

Rosie, from Port Glasgow, Inverclyde, is battling neuroblastoma – a type of cancer that forms in nerve tissue. Despite gruelling treatment, the cancer has recurred twice.

The local community rallied round and so far £40,000 has been collected from fundraising efforts.

Her parents Ross Mitchell, 42, and DonnaLouise Hurrell, 40, say they couldn’t be more grateful for the support they have received. Donna-Louise said: “I’m so amazed. It’s completely overwhelming.”

Donna-Louise says options are limited and the family are raising funds to go to the US or Germany for treatment aimed at preventing the cancer coming back.
