Tram & bus col­lide in cap­i­tal crash

A TRAM and a bus were in­volved in a col­li­sion in Ed­in­burgh yes­ter­day.

The Loth­ian Buses dou­ble-decker and the tram head­ing west to the city’s air­port struck each other in Shand­wick Place in the west end.

It’s un­der­stood no one was se­ri­ously hurt in the crash, which took place shortly be­fore 8am.

The in­ci­dent led to a dis­rup­tion of tram ser­vices.

The smash fol­lowed the death of Car­los Cor­rea Pala­cio, 53, who was struck by a tram near Saughton tram stop on Tues­day.

In June, a tram de­railed af­ter col­lid­ing with a bus near Ed­in­burgh Air­port.
