Hero Dod­die to get home city hon­our

BY LUCINDA CAMERON DOD­DIE Weir is to re­ceive an hon­our from his home city in recog­ni­tion of his out­stand­ing con­tri­bu­tion to sport, char­ity and Ed­in­burgh.

The Scot­land rugby leg­end, 48, will be pre­sented with the Ed­in­burgh Award and have his hand­prints set in stone at the City Cham­bers later this year.

Dod­die – who is bat­tling mo­tor neu­rone dis­ease and works with MND char­i­ties – said he was “hugely hon­oured and hum­bled”.
