DEM: I HAD TO RAISE MY GAME

-

MOUSSA DEMBELE has admitted it took him time to adapt to his £20million move from Celtic to Lyon because football in France is so much better than Scotland. The former Hoops striker has now scored five goals in his last six games for Lyon after initially struggling for form in Ligue 1. The 22-year-old admitted it took him some time to adjust on his return to BY MARK WALKER French football when he arrived home in August.

Dembele, left, said: “When you come to a new club it’s not always easy at first.

“At Celtic we had a lot of the ball and we played our football on the ground.

“But at Lyon the football is at another level and it took me time to adjust to it.

“It has taken some time for me to make my mark but I feel that I am getting there now. You have to learn a different style and work with a new coach and get his views.

“It certainly took me a bit of time but I feel I am learning all the time.

“I have been in good form recently and it would be nice to carry that on for the Champions League matches we have coming up against Barcelona.

“I would be lying if I said to you I had not thought about those two games.”
