Bonanza at bank we had to save

-

THE Scots banking giant rescued by the taxpayer is set to hand staff £335million in bonuses .

The latest windfalls at Royal Bank of Scotland will be announced alongside its annual results this Friday.

The pot is down from £342million in 2017, and senior RBS investment bankers are said to be annoyed by the cut.

RBS, bailed out by taxpayers at the height of the financial crisis when Fred “The Shred”Goodwin was in charge, is still more than 62 per cent owned by the public.

It is set to announce its second consecutive annual profit, and has also resumed dividend payouts to wealthy shareholders.
