Billy: Don’t miss finals like me
BILLY MCKAY has urged Scotland’s Euro 2020 hopefuls to give everything to avoid the finals heartbreak he had to endure.
The Ross County striker was a regular in the Northern Ireland squad when they qualified for the 2016 tournament and was named in the provisional squad but was left out before the big kick-off.
Mckay said: “I was one of the three or four players to miss out on the finals. It was so disappointing at the time.
“There are a lot of Scots in the Premiership and every single one of them will be eying up a place in the squad. It will make games tougher for us but will be good for the league.”
County face Kilmarnock away this afternoon and Mckay added: “It will be evenly matched. These are the places we need to go and get three points if we are to push on.”
