‘I F****D UP, SHE OWED ME £50K’

A RAGING gambler stabbed his partner rtner in a knife frenzy after accusing her of stealing £50,000 winnings fromom a £10 bet.

Anthony Taylor attacked Jacqueline Reoch – ex-partner of boxer Scott Harrison – hours after the couple had celebrated hitting the jackpot.

Taylor had put his “usual” £ 10 accumulator bet on through Jacqueline’s online gambling app. When the bet came in, the couple went out to celebrate in their home town of East Kilbride.

But a row developed over the winnings when the money wasn’t handed overer by Jacqueline – and Taylor turned violent. Jacqueline suffered 12 stab wounds and will be scarred for life after a frenzied knife attack.

Taylor, 44, yesterday admitted assaulting Jacqueline to her severe injury and permanent disfigurement at her home in East Kilbride, on August 31.

Hamilton Sheriff Court heard that Taylor had asked her to take him to a bookmakers to place his bet. Instead, Jacqueline told him to place the bet on her gambling app.

Jennifer McLaren, prosecuting, said: “She uploaded £10 and the accused placed the bet and won £50,000.”

The nature of the bet is not known. The couple went out to a pub to celebrate and when they returned home they were both “heavily intoxicated and bickering”.

About 2am, the couple argued again and Jacqueline ordered Taylor to leave the house. He did and she went to bed. He returned some time later and she allowed him in, but he remained in the living room while she went back upstairs. Ms McLaren told the court that later that night, an argument ensued where the accused appeared to accuse Jacqueline of stealing the winnings from the bet.

She added: “Ms Reoch told him the money hadn’t yet been transferred to her account. The accused then lunged forward, stabbing her repeatedly on the arm, body and neck with a small knife.

Taylor went to a neighbour’s house and asked for the police to be contacted, saying four males had chased him. But he admitted to another neighbour: “I’ve f****d. up. She owed me £50,000 and I stabbed her.”

Jacqueline was taken by ambulance to hospital where her wounds were treated with 24 stitches.

Sheriff Linda Nicolson called for a criminal justice social work report and a restriction of liberty assessment. Sentence was deferred until December 15 and Taylor remains behind bars.
