Murray’s pray day

-

CONOR MURRAY is PRAYING for the chance to stop England’s world record attempt.

Eddie Jones’ men are due in Dublin on March 18 and could be chasing not just a second Grand Slam but also a record-breaking 19th straight international win.

But Ireland scrum-half Murray, 27, is aiming for his own record.

Never before have an Irish team won three Championships in four years.

Yet if they finish the 2017 Six Nations campaign with a clean sweep of wins then they will be kings of Europe once again.

Murray said: “We have the hunger here to go the distance. We’re disappointed the way we started the tournament but have the ability to get the kind of results we need.

“We’re highly motivated and really hyped up for the France game next weekend.

“If we win, there’s an opportunity to be within a shot of winning this Championship – but we won’t get away with things against the French that we did against Italy.”
