Bruce has Vere good night at OT

ASTON VILLA boss Steve Bruce returned to his former Old Trafford haunt on Thursday to check on French star Jordan Veretout.

The midfielder (right) – on a season-long loan at St Etienne from Villa – impressed despite the 3-0 Europa League defeat by Manchester United.

But Veretout, 23, is still unsure where he will be playing next season.

He said: “Things have gone well. It’s been a really good season for me and for the club and I hope that continues.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen in the summer and what I want to do.

“For the moment, I just want to concentrate on these last few months I have at St Etienne. After that, I will think about Aston Villa again.”

Veretout, who was signed by former Villa boss Tim Sherwood for £7million 19 months ago, added: “I don’t really know Steve Bruce. We will have to speak at the end of the season.” STEVE MILLAR
