‘I had to go into care as a child’ MO’S CHILDHOOD HELL

+ £3.00 p&p ED GLEAVE TV Editor THE Voice star Mo Adeniran has has claimed that social services saved him from his violent adopted mother.

In an emotional interview, the singer, 21, said his turbulent childhood scarred him for years.

Mo was born into care and adopted aged three but any dreams of a happy new family were short-lived

He told the Daily Star Sunday: “Five years later I had to be taken off my adopted mum. To put it bluntly, she wasn’t the nicest person.

“Social services stepped in. They saved me. It was a physical thing. She could be very hands on at times. Things happened that weren’t right.”

Mo has now put his ordeal behind him and does not bear a grudge towards his mother.

He said: “I forgive my adopted mum for what happened. We all make mistakes.”

But during his teenage years Mo went off the rails because of the abuse he suffered growing up in Warrington, Cheshire.

He went on: “For a number of years I was still getting to grips with everything that happened. My mind wasn’t in the right place.

“I would drink and I partied a lot because I didn’t want to take responsibi­lity for what happened.”

But The Voice semi-finalist turned his life around with the help of pals.

He said: “You can sit wallowing in self pity or you can get on with it. I feel stronger now than I’ve ever been.”

Mo was also friends with Jack Dakin from the group Viola Beach, who all died in a car crash in Sweden last year.

He added: “I think about the band all the time.” BRIT star Thandie Newton and other stars of Line Of Duty face legal action if they let slip plots from the show.

The Hollywood actress has joined the hit drama for its fourth series, which kicks off tonight.

After signing up, Thandie, 44, and the rest of the cast were ordered by the BBC to sign legal documents to ensure they don’t spill storylines in interviews or online.

Show creator Jed Mercurio said: “When the scripts are issued ED GLEAVE TV Editor there’s a non-disclosure agreement that legally binds people not to disclose any of the story or the events from the programme.” Line Of Duty is filmed on location in Belfast with many scenes shot in public places. Jed added: “Generally people are very good. People don’t want to spoil things. We don’t really have a problem with that. If it’s something we don’t want to be seen then we do our best to keep it hidden.” Thandie has been cast as ballsy cop Roz Huntley, who has returned to work after years away being a full-time mum.

Line of Duty has become a huge hit since its launch in 2012. Last year it drew six million viewers to become the biggest drama ever to air on BBC Two.

After switching to BBC One, it’s expected to attract up to 10million viewers. It kicks off tonight at 9pm.
