Jimmy’s concern
MIKE SWANN INJURED England ace Jimmy Anderson faces a scan on his injured groin tomorrow.
The Burnley paceman limped out of Lancashire’s County Championship clash with Yorkshire on Friday after only six overs.
England’s all-time record wicket-taker was nowhere to be seen yesterday and Yorkshire’s batsmen now look unlikely to face Anderson, 34, again in this match.
Lancashire confirmed Anderson’s absence on their Twitter account: “The second day of the Roses match about to start. @jimmy9 is not out in the field this morning.”
Anderson had been scheduled to play in Lancashire’s next four championship matches before the Test series against South Africa which starts at Lord’s on July 6.
