GEORGE PICKS OUT RED ARROWS

Young royal steals the show as family marks the Queen’s big day

-

CHEEKY Prince George picked his nose as thousands gathered outside Buckingham Palace to mark the Queen’s official birthday yesterday.

Crowds of well-wishers laughed as the naughty royal, age three, bounced up and down with sister Charlotte, two, during a flypast by the Red Arrows.

And later he was spotted picking his nose as he gazed out of a window.

His great-grandad Prince Philip was on fine form as the 96-year-old joked with the royals gathered on the balcony. The Queen was also joined by Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry for her birthday display.

Her Majesty looked fresh in pale blue as she waved to crowds.

Some 1,600 soldiers and 244 horses from the Household Division were on parade for Trooping the Colour, which took place in nearby Horse Guards Parade.

Prince Charles, who is Colonel of the Welsh Guards, Princess Anne, Colonel FELICITY CROSS of the Blues and Royals, and Prince William, Colonel of the Irish Guards, were on horseback. Meanwhile, five Guardsmen were stretchered off the parade after fainting under sweltering heat during the ceremony.

Wearing full uniform, including a bearskin, one soldier collapsed to his knees before landing face down with his hands by his side.

An Army spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that during the Queen’s birthday parade today a small number of soldiers fainted. “It is an extremely hot day and all were removed from the parade, where they were hydrated and checked by medical staff.”
