PSG ROUND UP A CRACK LEGAL TEAM IN BID TO LAND £196m NEYMAR

- Exclusive Paul Hetherington

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN have hired FIFTEEN top lawyers in an attempt to clinch the sensational £196million world-record signing of Neymar from Barcelona.

The mega-rich Qatari-owned French club have assembled their legal team in an attempt to prevent the deal being blocked by UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules.

Barca have stated that FFP would prevent any club activating the Brazilian superstar’s release clause.

But there are now claims that Neymar, 25, could be loaned almost £200m to buy himself out of his own contract in Spain and switch to Paris.

PSG’s owners also want Neymar to be the face of the World Cup when Qatar host the event in 2022.

If they pull off a deal Barca insist will not happen, it would shatter the current world record of £89m Manchester United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba last summer. PSG have three superstar forwards on their wishlist – Neymar, Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, 28 (left) and Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, 18 (below). And the Paris club want two of those three this season. But Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said yesterday that Sanchez will not be leaving the London club, even for a team outside the Premier League.
