MEL B’S SEX VID BATTLE

Spice Girl in desperate plea to divorce case judge

Daily Star Sunday - - FRONT PAGE - ■ by MIKE PARKER sunday@dailystar.co.uk

MEL B has begged a judge to hold her divorce case in private – to stop her husband playing a sex tape of them in court.

The troubled Spice Girl made the plea after learning estranged hubbie Stephen Belafonte aims to enter 54 videos – including at least one sex tape – as evidence.

Her lawyers claim the court “has a duty” to shield Mel’s three children “from being exposed to any explicit material he intends to air”.

In new legal papers, her lawyers say the best way to ensure that is for the trial to be “sealed”. The public would be excluded and the media restricted from reporting salacious details.

The judge is likely to deliver his decision early next month, when the warring couple are due to appear together in court.

Mel and Belafonte, both

42, looked stony-faced when they appeared briefly at LA Superior

Court on Friday for the latest hearing in their bitter battle.

It came just 24 hours after Mel wrote on Instagram: “The truth always comes out in the end, no matter how hard anyone tries to hide it or stop it.”

The America’s

Got Talent judge has accused her ex of “emotional and physical abuse” during their 10-year marriage. She claims he coerced her into a series of threesomes and got their 26-year-old nanny Lorraine Gilles pregnant. Belafonte has hit back by claiming Mel was a willing participant during filmed sex with him and other women.

He also alleges she was addicted to cocaine and alcohol during their relationship, which left him “fearful for the wellbeing” of the children.

He is fighting for shared custody of their daughter Madison, six, and visitation rights to see step-daughter Angel, 10, whose dad is actor Eddie Murphy.

Mel has a third child, 18-year-old Phoenix Chi, whose father is her first husband, Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar. Belafonte’s lawyers have confirmed they are planning to interview – and possibly subpoena – an unnamed 22-year-old woman.

She claims she too was involved in a “three-way” romp with him and Mel.

They are also reportedly planning to quiz Beverly Hills Police siege negotiator Ryan Lawrence, 32. He briefly dated Mel following her split from Belafonte last December. A source close to Belafonte last night said: “He wants them both deposed so they have to make statements under oath. “Then his lawyers will decide if they will be called as witnesses in the case.”
