Babs ‘film snub’ fury

Daily Star Sunday - - FRONT PAGE -

BARBRA Streisand is angry after allegedly being snubbed in a remake of one of her most famous movies.

She had been tipped for at least a cameo in a new version of A Star Is Born, for which she won a best song Oscar and best actress Golden Globe in 1976.

Babs, 75, seemed certain to appear when her ex-boyfriend Jon Peters – her coproducer on the original blockbuster – was named as sole producer of the reboot.

But it’s said he has refused to offer her a part, even though she’s been unofficially coaching Lady Gaga on the lead character she made famous more than four decades ago.

A close friend said: “She was thrilled that Gaga got the big role in the remake and they have become close since Barbra took her under her wing.

“But not even Gaga, with all the clout she wields, has been able to get her a token appearance.

“That really hurt at first, but now Barbra is steaming mad at the way she is being completely overlooked.”
