Mum’s got goal for Joel
I’M A Celebrity runner-up Joel Dommett says his mum won’t be proud of him until he gets on Strictly Come Dancing.
The popular comic is currently in the middle of a 130-date stand-up tour.
His new TV series launched last week and he has just signed a major book deal to be released in 2018. But Joel, 32, joked: “If I don’t get on Strictly at some point in my life my mum would be very disappointed in me.
“I can sell out a tour, travel the world in my own TV series, hang out in the Australian jungle with Carol Vorderman and Larry Lamb…
“But the only thing that my mum would take notice of and make her proud is being on Strictly.
“She’s always bringing it up, casually dropping it into conversation.”
Joel finished second on last year’s I’m A Celeb, narrowly losing out to Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt. Putting himself forward for next year’s Strictly he said: “It’s an amazing show so of course I would be up for it.
“I would love to learn to dance as I’m pretty bad, plus it would keep my mummy happy.”
Joel’s new TV series, Joel and Nish vs the World, goes out tomorrow at 9pm on Comedy Central UK.
DANCE HOPE: Joel
