Daniel will return to play 007 for a final time with filming starting next year, but scriptwriters are still thrashing out the plot.

And Londoner Riz, 34, wants to be involved. He said: “Of course. Who doesn’t want to be a Bond villain? It sounds like fun.”

The actor, who also starred in Rogue One, says he would enjoy fighting Daniel. But he added: “I think we would know who would win that fight…me.”

The star said he was glad to have broken into Hollywood at a time when black, Asian and Muslim actors are not simply dismissed as being the bad guys.

He said he would have quit acting if that dynamic had not changed.
