Humes has re­vealed he con­vinced Olly Murs to take the job as a coach on the ITV singing comp.

Chat­ting at the ITV Gala, exJLS hunk Marv told me: “I was ac­tu­ally the first per­son Olly told when he got of­fered the job. He came around for lunch to ask my ad­vice to see if he should do it.

“I think it’s a no-brainer. He will be a bril­liant men­tor and is great on TV. He’s per­fect for the job. Plus, he’ll get to sing with Tom Jones which he’ll love.”

How­ever, Olly join­ing X Fac­tor ri­val The Voice hasn’t gone down well with XF boss Si­mon Cow­ell. LOUISA John­son and Paloma Faith looked like they were com­pet­ing in a mi­cro­phoneeat­ing con­test while per­form­ing on Fri­day. The two stars belted out their hits at Ra­dio City Live held at Liver­pool’s Echo Arena. Paloma’s new al­bum Ar­chi­tect is re­leased this week.
