DUE TO PRESS START TIMES AT OUR NEW PRESSES WE CAN ONLY CARRY THE NATIONAL LOTTERY RESULTS IN OUR LATER EDITIONS ACTRESS Eunice Gayson – the first Bond girl – has died aged 90.

She played Sylvia Trench alongside Sean Connery in the films Dr No and From Russia With Love.

During the filming of Dr No, Gayson took Connery for a drink to help calm his nerves so he could deliver 007’s most famous catchphrase – giving his name as “Bond, James Bond”– for the first time.

The stepson and daughter of original Bond producer Albert R Broccoli, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, paid tribute to Gayson in a post on the official James Bond Twitter account.

It read: “We are so sad to learn that Eunice Gayson, our very first ‘Bond girl’, has passed away.

“Our sincere thoughts are with her family.”
