Anne raps #MeToo ‘wusses’
TELLY star Anne Robinson says #MeToo campaigners are “wusses” for not standing up to pervy men.
The presenter, 73, said she suffered harassment in the past but refused to let it get to her.
Anne said: “I feel my generation crashed through enough of the glass ceiling and we handed on the baton. Well, what happened? I thought they would run with it.
“I didn’t expect to now discover that there are lots of really clever, welleducated 45-year-olds crying in the loos at work over their bosses’ behaviour.
“Maybe my lot handed them too much on a plate because there are all these wusses, clever girls getting upset about the treachery of the workplace.”
The #MeToo movement against sexual harassment sparked global discussion thanks to stars including Uma Thurman, who claimed movie mogul Harvey Weinstein tried to sexually assault her.
Anne added: “So Uma Thurman was appallingly treated. But instead of saying something about it at the time, she went back to make another film with Harvey? Really?”
The Trouble With Women, Anne’s new documentary about the fight for equality, is on Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
