It’s Jumping Jack cash for Stones

Daily Star Sunday - - FRONT PAGE - ■ by CHARLES WADE-PALMER

THE prices of these goods won’t give Rolling Stones fans much satisfaction. To mark the comeback of Mick Jagger and his band, Selfridges is selling Stones’ gear at eye-watering prices – from a £350 lampshade to a £7,500 pool table.

Pop-up shops flogged the marked-up merchandise, which included clothes and accessories with jaw-dropping prices, at Selfridges stores in London, Birmingham and Manchester.

’n’ roll band’s ‘hot lips’ logo hit the shelves with a £44.99 price tag to tempt thirsty fans with deep pockets.

The lyrics of the band’s Summer Romance – “I’ll be down the pub, probably playing pool and drinking” – look to have inspired the exclusive red and white nine-foot pool table which some fans may want painted black.

The luxury of telling the time on a Stones branded watch would cost you £500, and to get yourself a jewel-encrusted necklace it will be £750.

A £10,000 velvet armchair and a bizarre vinyl bowl were other eye-catching products available, with many more clothes online including a £150 England football shirt.

The Stones’ world tour hits Twickenham stadium on Tuesday, June 19.
