Oldie Ash feeling like a kid again

ASHLEY YOUNG is 33 next month – making him the senior player in England’s World Cup squad.

But the Manchester United wing-back (below) is so excited about going to Russia that he revealed he feels like “a kid”.

Young said: “If I look back a year, I don’t think there would be many people in the press who would have said I’d be going to the World Cup.

“I’m an honest person and I know that.

“But I never wrote off my chances and now I’m probably the most excited I’ve ever been. I feel like a kid.”

And Young knows he has the best preparation for playing on the biggest stage.

He said: “I am used to playing under pressure for United at club level. There is pressure there 24/7.

“And of course there is going to be big pressure at a major tournament when you are representing your country. It’s every player’s dream to go to the World Cup.

“And seeing the confidence and ability that there is going through the squad, I have got every hope we can go as far as the final and win it.”
