Jones: Lot of love in the camp
PHIL JONES has warned England’s World Cup opponents that they are about to face a “special” team.
And the Manchester United defender (below) is hoping this tournament will be third time lucky for him.
Jones, 26, said: “This is my third tournament with England and every time we’ve said we had a good team.
“But I do feel this team is special. We have a very good squad, a very good team, one that is full of experience but also has youth.
“I certainly feel we are heading in the right direction.
“There are no big-time players in this squad.
“Everyone gets along great, there is no frostiness or bitterness. Everyone enjoys each other’s company.
“We have dinner together and it’s great to be part of a relaxed environment. Maybe in the past there were cliques in the group.
But that’s not the case.
“When Gareth Southgate and Steve Holland took over, they adopted that sort of relaxed environment.
“It has suited the lads down to a T.”
