Ben is French Fall guy
FRANCE full-back Ben Fall’s early red card helped give the All Blacks victory in the Second Test to wrap up their series against Les Bleus with a game to spare.
Fall was sent off in the
12th minute for taking out All Blacks’ Beauden Barrett in the air.
The fly-half landed on his head and was forced off as a result, so referee Angus Gardner had no choice but to issue the red card. Morgan Parra gave France the lead with an
11th-minute penalty then the game effectively ended after Fall was sent off after that clash at the restart.
The All Blacks scored through Joe Moody and Ben Smith, with two for Jordie Barrett (above) whose first score came from a counter-attack in the final minute of the first half to give them a
21-6 lead.
France ended the game with a consolation as Cedate Gomes Sa finished off a sweeping movement at the final whistle. That score came after debutant hooker Pierre Bougarit’s put-down was ruled out for a double movement.
